Our apartment “Laudes”

Here we present our appartment  “Laudes” in the PrieurĂ© Saint Martial!
The name of this appartment is “Laudes”, which means praise. The distinction “summa cum laude” in Latin means “with the highest praise”. The word “Laudes” means, more precisely, “song of praise” or “morning praise” and defines the liturgical morning prayer of the Catholic, Old Catholic, Anglican and Lutheran Churches (which sounds plausible, given the fact that we’re standing here on the premises of an old Priory, don’t you think so?)
This cozy, “laudable”, 52 m2 large apartment consists of a bedroom with double bed, a spacious living-dining-room with a kitchenette with dishwasher, a bathroom with bathtub and a washing machine as well as a separate toilet. In the winter of 2020/2021 the living room and kitchen were freshly renovated: The kitchen has now been enhanced for a greater comfort, the living-room has been painted, partially wall-papered and equipped with new furniture and antique lamps.
Bed linen, shower and hand towels, a hair dryer, dish cloths, apron and oven mitts are provided. Internet access (WiFi) is available free of charge. A new WiFi-compatible TV enables you to watch not only French, but also international TV channels with different apps.
In the winter of 2022/2023, air conditioning was installed and the bathroom, toilet and bedroom were completely renovated. The bathroom was enlarged and a modern walk-in shower was installed.
The flat also includes its own small front garden for the exclusive use of its owners and guests – of course with garden furniture and a gas barbecue. And when you’re comfortably sitting here in the front garden, you’ll enjoy the wonderful view of the main house of the former priory, , which reflects the setting sun on its façade in the evening, creating a fascinating interplay of colours (what you can appreciate in the pictures below on this page).
The large, lovely park, both swimming pools as well as sufficient parking spaces are available for all residents and their guests.
The apartment is ideal for 2 to 3 persons. However, it should be noted that smoking is forbidden in the apartment and pets are not allowed in the whole resort, since this is a place of calm and relaxation.
